Three small bathroom remodeling ideas to get you started!
Bathrooms are the most remodeled spaces in a home, and we wanted to give you the first three things we think of when beginning any bathroom remodel.
So, here are our three small bathroom remodeling ideas to get you started …
Space-Saving Design
The first place to begin is with the layout. You typically have three pieces you’re trying to arrange into a square or rectangle space. Ideally, the vanity, shower, and toilet would be placed as best as possible.
If you’re on a strict budget, don’t change your layout, but rather focus on design choices that will maximize your space, like a round toilet rather than an elongated one. Every inch adds up.
If your budget allows for a layout change, we ensure that layouts are changed in the most economical way and focus on the best possible arrangement of the bathroom pieces.
Maximize Storage
There are so many great options for maximizing storage in your small bathroom. The style of vanities, hutches, and medicine cabinets has come a long way in modernity and personality, and I highly recommend using them to your advantage.
As you can see in the first two images below, these homeowners used their space in the most maximized way. They didn’t need or want much countertop space and preferred everything to be neatly placed out of sight. They knew how they wanted to utilize their space, and their budget allowed for a custom vanity.
In the last two images, you can see the different styles and preferences of vanity use, a mirrored medicine cabinet, and above toilet wall hutch.
Maximize Lighting
Finally, you don’t want to skimp on lighting. Yes, it’s a small space, but lighting is an excellent tool for making spaces appear larger. You will want a vanity light and a lighted exhaust fan combined with a white ceiling. You can adjust the feel of the room by the brightness and warmth of the light and the fixture design. Lighting is one of the most essential elements, and I believe it’s often overlooked.
To recap, I believe the best approach to a small bathroom remodel is to focus on the storage and lighting. Your layout might be determined by budget, but with a little thought and professional advice, both paths can utilize your small bathroom's potential.
