A powder room is meant to be a haven

Updated: 3 days ago

Do you have one for your guests?

A classic powder room design board. Wood vanity with marble top. Gold hardware, faucet, mirror, and sconce lighting. A skirted toilet and gold toilet paper stand. Wooden ladder shelving with plants, candles, towels, photo frame, and extra toilet paper. Soft green and white vine wallpaper, white wainscoting and darker stained LVP flooring.

I LOVE remodeling a powder room!

I look at each room in a house as a place that gives purpose beyond the obvious. A powder room is a space that I love to make a cozy retreat with unique attributes while still blending into the home's atmosphere.

And here's why …

A powder room is a guest's haven.

A powder room is a place where your guests can excuse themselves, whether in the most matter-of-fact manner or as a haven to regroup their thoughts. Either way, providing a calm space where your guests have permission to retreat is a kind gesture.

I have been to gatherings in acquaintances' homes and needed just a moment to refresh from the many new conversations I was having. I was grateful for the slightly dimmer lighting and smaller space that made me feel cozy and ready to mingle again.

It's a great place to show your personality.

A powder room is great for moody walls, fun wallpaper, and unique sinks. Maybe not all of those elements together … and yet … maybe?

I like to blend the main aspects of the powder room with your home for cohesion while adding specific parts of your personality.

For instance …

Wallpaper might not be something you want throughout your home, but a small room is an excellent canvas for it! If you're not a wallpaper fan, then utilize a paint color that is pulled from the decor in your home.

If you're more drawn to the accents in a home, then focusing on choosing a unique sink, faucet, and lighting is a great way to show your personality.

My ultimate goal will always be to provide a quiet place for my guests.

I've been having fun pinning powder rooms on Pinterest and included the board below.

Have a great week, and don't forget to drop me an email to chat about your remodeling plans!
