Project Spotlight for a garage we built in Rathdrum, ID.
A garage is versatile.
This structure protects vehicles and equipment from the elements, provides a fix-it-all space, and can be a great place to hold celebratory gatherings or watch a game.
Economically, these stand-alone structures are a great way to add a garage without affecting your home. They are solid, and this particular garage build has a concrete floor and electrical.
Pair all of these great characteristics with the need to build it using a Skid Steer and a Dingo, and I think I can hear Tim Taylor!
-The old garage was not up to the current building codes for the region, and it had collapsed under the weight of a large snowfall.
-We cleared the collapsed garage and built a 14’x 20’ pole building with 10’ clearance from floor to truss.
-The new building has 6” x 6” treated posts set in concrete 3’ down into the ground, 2 x 8 roof purlins, and 2 x 6 girts.
-The roof is sheathed with ½” OSB and covered in 29 gauge rolled steel siding.
-The walls of the garage are covered in 29 gauge rolled steel siding.
-The building has an 8’ x 8’ garage door with electric opener, keypad, dual remotes and a steel side entry door with security light.
-Inside the garage has a concrete floor, lights, and outlets.
-The new garage is up to code to withstand the area's weather, with a 50-sf snow load rating and a 105-mph wind rating.
