Kellogg Traditional Mountain Kitchen Remodel & Home Refresh

The homeowner wanted to update their 1920s kitchen. The original cabinetry showed years of use and multiple layers of paint, and this home required lead testing and remediation. The cabinetry lead test results were positive for lead, and there was a likelihood that the original floor tiles contained asbestos. So, the proper remediation process was followed in the demo of the cabinetry, and instead of remediation, the homeowner chose to leave the floor undisturbed and cover it with new sheet vinyl flooring instead.

The homeowner chose shaker-style Huntwood cabinetry in antique white for the uppers and a dark stain for the lowers, which matched some of the furniture in their home. After the cabinets were installed, the countertops were templated for quartz. While waiting for the countertops, antique crystal cabinet pulls were installed to match the style of the home, and the walls were painted. The white with tan veining quartz countertops were installed, followed by the white farmhouse sink, oil-rubbed bronze faucet, and dishwasher so they could be checked for leaks. Next, the white subway tile with brown grout was installed along the backsplash. Finally, the range and fridge were re-installed, and the room was cleaned.

This kitchen took 2 weeks to complete.
