Country Two-Story Deck, Shop Staircase & Bridge

Deck
Overlooking a nice wooded acreage, this second-floor walk-out deck’s wood was rough and split and had served its former homeowners. So, the deck was removed, and new footers were poured for a new, larger deck. The homeowners chose a nice brown composite decking with a matching composite railing to complete their 420-square-foot outdoor living space.


Composite Stairs
The next project completed for the homeowners was a set of flared wooden steps that gave access to their lower patio and yard. The stairs were in the same disrepair as their deck; in addition, they had been dug out by groundhogs. So, new steps were made using the same composite decking that the deck stairs were made of to completely enclose the stairs.

The deck and composite stairs took 2 weeks to complete.


Bridge
This property had a large creek running through the wooded portion that required crossing a bridge to get to the back half of the property. The current wooden bridge was derelict and had become too short for the creek, which had gotten wider since its original construction. A new bridge was constructed using 6x6 beams and treated decking with side rails.

The bridge took 1 day to complete.

The homeowners also had a large shop with a lofted platform without an access. So, the homeowner requested stairs and railing to be built in order to make the space usable and safe. Closed tread stairs with cattle railings were built.
