Backyard Sunshade Deck

This deck was for a returning client, and this time they were looking to expand their living space into their backyard. The plan for the new deck was to incorporate the porch and decking onto the same plane and to make the deck large enough to cover the existing patio without removing it. Leaving the patio saved money and prevents weeds from easily growing under the deck.

Once the footers and beam were in place, the area was covered in landscape fabric to further prevent weeds and grass from growing. A beautiful gray composite decking was installed with matching composite skirting to keep animals out from under the deck. A traditional white vinyl railing was installed, and to make the space more usable during the hotter months, an adjustable sun sail and side curtains were added.

​The deck is approximately 300 square feet and took 8 days to complete.
